Number Plate luggage rack

I have seen a few goldwongs and a K1200lt with a rack below the number plate.
It makes great sence to me to have one down there as I use a tent and I dont want the weight on the top box and it is too big for a pannier.
Has anyone here fitted one in this position?
I think I have worked out how I am going to do the job, but any ideas from someone who has done it before are most welcome.

Dauntless hitch does it

I bought a Dauntless hitch from a board member who gave up his LT. Instead of the trailer coupler this unit has a square "receiver" in which can be installed either a hitch or a platform for a rack to hold either a cooler or some other baggage. My this winters project is to have the baggage tray made of aluminum.

He had the receiver custom made at Dauntless but he said it took quite a while. It could be done at home as well provided one has some welding experience.

Lightbulb Here is a picture of the modified Dauntless

Here is the modified Dauntless hitch which I did not bother to install in place for photographing. The square plastic is just a mudflap tp prevent stones etc. hitting the cooler box or whatever is hanging on the rack.
As I said, the rack itself I don't have yet.

I hope you get the idea.
