It sure would be fun to know how many riders have dropped this bike. We have some of the best riders around on this board. I would love to see a survey. I don't have the expertise to set up and format such a thing, but it would really be interesting to see how many veteran bikers have had the dreaded experience of laying it down. I felt like I was destine to drop it, knock on wood it has'nt happened yet. I feel very much in control of it now but it was a long learning curve.

Ride Safe.

It's kind of like a hard disk failure. It's not a matter of if, It's a matter of when..
If you ride the bike long enough you'll eventually drop it... foot will slip in something or wife will lean too far over looking at the scenery while stopping....

There was a post like this on the old web site and a club formed for droppers. Unfortunately, there were many members.
Yep, the famous club of Droppers Anonymous (DA)...

I joined the club the first day I picked the bike from the dealers. After 50 km...

Thereafter renewed my membership twice. I have the feeling that this club is quite widely spread.

Howdy Dry_Rider,

I put a poll up as a thread. I believe that if I had gotten through the first year without dropping the LT, I stood a better than 50/50 chance of never dropping it.

There is dropping it ....
and then there is dropping it in front of 30 BMW riders before a run because you were a klutz and tried to pull of in 3rd instead of 1st...
Ask me how I know.....

I remember at the CCR in Gatlinberg an incident. We were lining up for a massive police escorted ride on a uneven parking area. One couple right next to me got a little off balance and down they went. I immediately looked away a pretended that I didn't see it happen. That is how I noticed that everyone was looking in some other direction; pretending they didn't see it happen.

When the two were back on their feet everyone suddenly noticed and helped them pick it back up; but I never heard a word spoken.

It can, has and will happen to any one of us.
