Newbie - with questions

Hello all!

The name is Bob. I am a new K1200LT owner residing in Bourne, Lincolnshire in the UK

Just bought a 1999 1200LT with 48000 mikes in need of TLC. So to date I have fitted all new fluids, brake pads and pipes, K and N filter, new coolant, filters, battery etc.

So to my questions!

1. Toolkit - have one with a few rubber strap and as far as I know, it resides in the left hand pannier. But where? There appears to be nowhere to fix the rubber strap. Can anyone supply a picture?

2. Should I remove the charcoal canister?

3. Any other useful mods I should make?

Kind regards!!!!

Bob

Re: Newbie - with questions

Bob,
The toolkit goes to the rear in the left side case. The rubber strap will go through a bracket in the bottom.

Re: Newbie - with questions

Hi Chris, many thanks. Have no bracket but have seen one on an online parts fiche. How does the bracket attach to the pannier please?

Re: Newbie - with questions

Looking again at my picture and zooming in, (a lot) it looks like nothing more that 2 sided foam tape. I'd suggest the kind for automotive trim or badges. The part may come with it already on it though.

Re: Newbie - with questions

Mine came loose and I re-glued it with PVC cement for pipes. Also it was part way up the vertical side of the pannier not flat on the bottom.
