intercom question

My 05 LT did not come with an intercom system, but I found a used one for sale that I would like to buy and install. I have the plastic off right now to do the fuel line QC upgrade, so this would be a good time to do it if it is possible. I do not see any empty connectors to plug it in to. Do the intercom and non-intercom bikes have a different harness? Has anyone ever done an install on a bike that did not come with intercom? If so, what do I need to know? Will I have to find a complete harness? Any help is appreciated.
BTW, I have a bluetooth system already and I don't like it. I want a good old fashioned wired system.

Re: intercom question

I thing there are a couple of wire harnesses you have to buy to plug into your bikes harness and your new comm system. Check your local dealer for specific wire harnesses you will need.

Re: intercom question

It depends on what system you have found. If it is a VOICE II there is documentation here on a members install effort. It should come with all the cables. If not it may not be a good deal at any price.

But lack DE, MA, RI and CT with the 2005 LT

Re: intercom question

If the cables are missing or cut, then lower the price you are willing to pay by $500 as that is how much those cables will cost from the dealership. Voice II is nearly worthless if the wire harness for all of it is not intact and complete.

Currently riding a 2003 K1200LTC

Re: intercom question

Thanks for the replies. The one I found has everything except the headsets, but I think I have decided to go with an aftermarket system. The headsets cost as much as a complete aftermarket system.
