Thumbs up New two the lt

1st and for most I want to say hi to everyone and say that this is a great site with tons of information.
That being said my name is Michael I'm 23 and I just bought my 2005 lt for 6300$ with 47,700 miles and it is an amazing bike. That being said I came from a cbr600f4 that is modded, so I enjoy a bike that will move and handle when asked to. The lt has impressed me at every turn.
This wenter it will be taken do to do an upgraded raido (not Jensen) complet with a sub and upgraded speakers, under/in bike LEDs

Now for the pics if the bikes

Re: New two the lt

Welcome

just remember the LT has a car style drive line with dry clutch, like any dry clutch a lot of slipping is bad for it, use as little rpm as possible for as short a time as possible only giving it a lot of throttle when clutch lever fully released

Look on youtube, someone gutted the topcase and converted it into a subwoofer.

if you are interested in getting rid of all your storage space it would not be hard to make the LT stereo louder than most competition car stereos. but the bike would need to be heavily modified with a LOT of cutting that cant be undone.

Re: New two the lt

Lol I've all ready looked I don't want to make any permant mods and I'm only wanting to give up one box. I'm not looking for comp sound just a little bit more body to the sound. I did play with the idea of a 12 though but the rides I want to take would not allow that to happen

Welcome!

It looks like your bike has a car tire on the back. Seems very flat and nothing on the side! Maybe just my imagination.

Lol thanks I have him hell for the 5 years he owned it, then my cbr went down and I had a club ride that I had to make so I barrowed it from him. After that ride I called him and told him I was buying it from him (he had it for sell) and the rest is history. He's kicking him self now for selling it, now that he has seen my mod list that I have for it. My mod list is everything that he wanted to do to it and didn't have the nads to do it.

As far as takeing care of her, I plan on doing all the tlc myself so ill be useing the wite ups from here to do it all. The only worrie I have so far is the fd failure that I have read about. That being said since the clutch is a dry clutch kinda like the ones found in cars has any one made a clutch that would be comparable to a stage one or stage two clutch found in hot rods? Just a hair brained idea. I've also been looking at the after market pipes for these bikes. The reason I'm looking at them is every BMW bike I've seen with an aftermarket one sounds amazing so one on this could sound good. Any input?

Re: New two the lt

aidenlynn;

This is Pledge ( multi-purpose) this is all I have used for 15 years, on both LT's My 1993 1100 LT, and this one.
Great Stuff. This was taken in the driveway prior to leaving for New Orleans so it was cleaned..

Regards,
Bowdon

so true. Did you remove the two plastic strips from under the side emblem for a specific reason?

I am betting the chrome part came unglued, mine on the right side are starting to come apart.
