Which coolant/antifreeze for my K1200LT?

I have just had an oil pump seal spring a leak on my 2000 K1200lt so have had to drain the coolant to replace the oil/coolant pump. The coolant in the bike has only been replaced by a BMW dealer in the past so I guess that a BMW coolant would have been used. I have bought this.
Which contains ethylene glycol and corrosion inhibitors suitable for aluminium engines, but I am concerned weather it is the correct type to use.
Thanks for looking and for any guidence.

Is what I ordered. It's what BMW uses in the bikes and is only slightly more expensive than the other brands.

I have heard that Zerex G-05 is the exact same stuff available at most auto stores.

The BMW coolant is only $12 a gallon if you buy it at the car dealer. Same stuff.

Awesome tip and great idea. Did not realize that the same stuff was used on the car side, Nice to see the Motorcycle dealers intentionally robbing us owners on even the coolant.

Well I used Engine Ice and I'm happy with it, but now we know that the BMW stuff is $12 a gallon from the car dealer, next change I'm heading back that direction...

Re: Which coolant/antifreeze for my K1200LT?

I bought a gallon at the car dealer one time. A price check at the MC dealer showed them to be a few cents cheaper than the car dealer. This was a few years ago. Car dealer in smaller city than MC dealer. That could be the reason for the pricing. I've not checked pricing at the Charlotte car dealer. Definitely worth doing.

That was a three year old price but I get full synthetic BMW 10W-30 oil from the car dealer for my 330ci for $7 a quart (and it take 7 quarts).

Just returned from the BMW auto dealers after purchasing one gallon of BMW antifreeze for $26.48, two years ago I thought it was high at $14.

Re: Which coolant/antifreeze for my K1200LT?

I've heard anti-freeze prices have skyrocketed in General.

I just paid $45 for a Gallon of Evans NPG coolant (http://www.evanscooling.com/products...ts/automotive/) ...I'm kinda stuck using it in the racecar as it's what it's got now, and you can't mix it with ANYTHING water based. It works well enough, but man, I'm paying the price for 'high tech'.
