So what IS the difference between an LT vs LTC

Is there more to it than factory armrests and a CD changer in the right saddlebag?

I've see LTC's without the armrests, but maybe the owner took them off.

Mine has the factory CD changer and NO armrests.

Thanks,

Dave.

Re: So what IS the difference between an LT vs LTC

Dave, BMW doesn't offer armrest to my knowledge. They are 2-3 aftermarket companies that offer the armrest and are owner installed.
My '99 was just the LT model with no chrome on mirrors, windshield covers, or the driver and passenger side pieces with chrome foot pegs for the same. Also did not have heated grips, seat or top box chromed lift piece. It does now but I installed all that myself.

And... shortly after I've gotten the LT looking more like the LTC including an aftermarket Jensen 2212 radio replacement and J&M CB radio... I found a wonderful 2007 and have gotten that. It's in pieces as the Wilbers rear shock was set for a 6'4" guy in the 270 range with passenger of about 200 pounds and it didn't have any SAG at all even when I sat down on the bike. It came with Corbin seats all around and I couldn't even touch the ground unless on tip toes. So the Corbin's are off and going to be for sale and the shock has been to The Beemer Shop in CA and will be back to me this Wednesday for the 2 day reinstall and reinstalling ass the Tupperware.

So if the LT isn't like you want it... you can get it closer over time with add ons and parts are always coming available on eBay and from Beemer Boneyard and such and this forum in the classifieds is a great source too.

Good luck

Check the "similar threads" below the post. There is more info in the archives if you do a search with keywords related to 'model designation' or 'model differences'. Good luck. HTH.

Ok, armrests are aftermarket only. Thanks, Tommy.

Dick, thanks for the help. Just needed the proper terminology.

According to the options list in one of the threads, I have a "C" model then.

Mine has the CD changer, heated grips, cruise, chrome rack on top box, chrome package including mirrors and lower items, plus individual heated seats.

That's good to know (value)... and it makes her pretty.

Thanks, fellas.

Dave.

Re: So what IS the difference between an LT vs LTC

Funny story on my '02 LTC.

I purchased mine long distance from a dealer 350 miles away via a telephone call. I was purchasing a plain LT.

When I arrived there was a mistake and they had sold the plain LT.

However, they manned up admitted the mistake and sold me an LTC for the same/agreed price. I got a great deal.
