Smile K1200LT Praise

In 2003 I bought a new 2003 LTE. 6 years later I sold it. About 2 weeks ago I acquired a virtual twin to my old LTE. I added the Garmin 665 and a Bushtec hitch. This last weekend my wife and I towed our Aspen pop up trailer for the first extended trip. Everything went absolutely great. We both are happy to be back on the LT. While the LT is not the best at everything it does so many things well.

Today I got out for a 200 mile joy ride by myself. My grinning muscles are tired!

I must admit that this forum sometimes is fatiguing with all the posts of problems. I am confident that a very large percentage of LT owners are like me. We accept a few potential deficiencies in order to drive a very satisfying machine.

I hope to have many more miles of fun!

I agree. I'm replacing two tires today, packing, and heading out for Four Corner ride Sept 9 on a great bike. 113,000 miles. Can't wait.

Re: K1200LT Praise

New old-LT (2000) owner here. I hope my experience mirrors yours!
But 4 weeks and $2500 at the dealer doesn't bode well.
I just moved and still need to set up a shop for DIY work.
I'm hoping for some great fall rides!

Re: K1200LT Praise

Me too. Although after a long summer of riding I am looking at shocks, just did front brakes, new rear tire...so I am biting my tongue on costs to maintain - BUT I think overall its a cost-effective ride. Very few problems after many miles.

I'm loving the K12LT, I'm hating the 95 degree days, and I'm dreadin' the 12k service I'll be performing in November...

Talking Re: K1200LT Praise

EVERY "machine" has a potential for issues. There are lots of problems posted because those people can't ride due to some issue with the machine. But for every ONE of them there are a couple of THOUSAND others too busy to post complaints because they are OUT RIDING!!!!

Re: K1200LT Praise

Just purchased a new to me 02 LT with only 10.5k. I went to the dark side for a while with HD Ultra Classic. Have owned 5 BMWs in the past and had forgotten how well they ride and handle. Am loving it. I am really enjoying have brakes again.
