Can't Unlock Bags after being in a downpour!

We got caught in a hail storm and a downpour for hours in Northern Oregon and up to Yakima, WA.
The radar detector display got wet and no longer works, but that is secondary.
This morning I could not unlock the paniers so we are stuck with all our luggage in the hotel room. Not a big deal today as we are staying another day locally, but obviously I need to to unlock by tomorrow morning.
The red flashing light blinks on the remote and the battery seems OK.
Any suggestions?
I only use the remote to lock and unlock but not to disable the bike. In fact the engine started fine.

Still can't get to the oddment box though, but not a big concern at the moment.
I still wonder what happened to the central locking system.

They might have gotten out of sync on the rolling codes. Try locking and then unlocking several times and they might just sync up. See you at CCR.

Re: Can't Unlock Bags after being in a downpour!

While we could not identify the source of the problem John managed to unlock the oddment box lock by using jumpers on the 12 pin connector located under the rear top box.
Thank you again John for taking the time to solve my immediate problem.

Quick fix on the spot, but I need to find a better solution for the ride home on Saturday.

On three bikes now I have used zip ties on my ballast and to date have had no problems. Also once you have them in place on top of the frame bars they are easy to snip and take off. I just carry a few ties around with me.

Re: Can't Unlock Bags after being in a downpour!

I use zip ties as well. Key is to make sure the turning radius is not affected. DAMHIK

Re: Can't Unlock Bags after being in a downpour!

I thought I should post a quick update on my central locking system.
Since I experienced that failure I have been using the key to lock/unlock.
Last week I automatically went back to the old reflex, and lo and behold my central locking works again. I guess the bike had a nice convalescence in SOCAL and everything dried up...

Re: Can't Unlock Bags after being in a downpour!

I am not surprised that being back in SoCal did the trick. I know my monthly visits help rejuvenate me!
