Note the link below that may help you in your search for tires for your LT:
The website lists the front tire, Metzeler Marathon 120/70 VB
-17 for $145.00, and the rear tire Metzeler Marathon 160/70 VB
-17 for $212.99, $0.00 standard shipping, and $0.00 tax. (note: I have no commercial interest in Amazon or anything else).
My front Metzeler Marathon's have averaged 9,000K, and the rear Metzeler Marathon's have average 11,000K (at the stage where it felt I should change them, but they were still good for a few more miles). Bottom line: I like them for their strength, comparative long wear, and safety that is designed for my heavy cruiser.
Why I really like them: Years ago, traveling at 80 mph on the highway I heard a constant tap,tap,tap----- noise coming from the rear of my bike. I stopped, placed my bike on the center stand, and checked the rear of the bike including the rear tire and found that it was firm and seemed OK, but with all this inspection I couldn't determine the source of the noise. A few more miles down the highway, with the tap,tap annoying me, I repeated the process with the same results. The third time after stopping I repeated the process but I also checked the air pressure of the rear tire, which was low. The I rotated the rear tire slowly through 360' and found the head of a large soup spoon deeply embedded into my tire. I figured that since the bike seems to be handling OK at 80 mph with the compromised firm tire (notice I didn't say "flat tire") I rode home the 10 miles distance very cautiously. I did, and arrived home safely. The design of the tire possibly saved my life and got me home. What else can I say?
