Side stand grease

The repair manual says to grease bearing bush with a grease gun until fresh grease emerges at the lubricated surfaces. Since there isn't a nipple for the grease gun, how do you get the grease gun to force the grease into the bearing?

Thanks,
Jer

Re: Side stand grease

You use a syringe type applicator that you hold against the pin hole while you press the plunger. Any auto parts store should carry them.

I got one like this at a bicycle shop. Came with a tube of water resistant grease. http://www.finishlineusa.com/products/grease-pump.htm

Re: Side stand grease

Thanks to all. I have the grease "syringe" ordered. Are there other locations that this style of applicator is required?

Have fun,
Jer

Not on the LT. Wish they had put them on the center stand pivots, but then we would be blowing out the o-rings.
