Here's my offer to any LT newbies....

A couple of weeks ago I made the switch to a k1600 GTL from an '09LT. Did all my own maintenance on the LT thanks to the collective wisdom on this forum. As a little pay back to the forum I'd like to extend the following offer. I have the following items that are no longer of any use to me:

Clymers manual
Oil filter wrench
New brake pads, front and rear, in original package
Beemerboneyard funnel for bleeding ABS modulator
Paul Sayegh maintenance videos (2)
K1200 video detailing bleed procedure for ABS modulator
Baggie of several crush washers and o-rings for the quick disconnects

Highest bid for the entire collection, with the proceeds going to an administrator of this forum to be applied towards the charity selected for this years CCR rally, wins! I'll cover the cost of shipping to the winner, limited to addresses in the lower 48 states. I'll need an administrator from the forum to step forward and help me with this. Also think a minimum bid of $75.00 would be reasonable. I'll keep the bidding open until June 10th.

I've never done anything like this before so I hope I'm not overlooking something here. If the forum sees anything wrong with going forward with this idea let me know and I'll pull the plug on the whole idea. Just seemed like a good way for me to repay all the good folks on this forum who helped me save a bundle of money maintaining the LT over the past 18 months.

So that's the offer, donate $75.00 or more to the bmwlt forum and I'll ship you the items listed above. If I'm not mistaken, the brake pads are worth more than $75.00.

Well, if it'll go towards the CCR charity, then I'll meet your opening bid of $75 and raise it to $100, but your terms sound a little confusing. This website does accept donations for the sake of offsetting overhead costs, so Iet's not mixup the two. Perhaps your thread would fit better under the CCR forum? Just saying.

As for an Admin from BMWLT.COM goes they have nothing to do with CCR. CCR is a separate entity of its own. I would contact Stacy White who is the Chair for this years Silent Auction about making a donation.

Re: Here's my offer to any LT newbies....

Sorry for any confusion I've generated. Guess I was under the (wrong) impression the the forum, as a collective entity not just on an individual basis, supported the CCR charity each year. At this point I think my preference would be to direct the proceeds towards offsetting the administrative costs of running this forum. I hope that doesn't diminish anyone's interest in participating in the bidding! Is there a "treasurer" for the forum to whom the proceeds should be directed?

Might want to relocate the thread to obtain maximum exposure for those that might be interested in bidding.

Thanks guys,
Dave

I withdraw my bid. This forum is run by a company that makes money off all the ads
they bombard us with. It used to be run by a couple of individuals ( Randy,Andy and others)
I am tired of seeing Flo and the text inside of messages altered.

I'm with Dan & Steve on this one.
A donation to the CCR would be the more productive / charitable thing.
Check the CCR message board & contact Stacy White. (see the sticky at the top)
I've already made a donation myself.

See you there.

OK, I'm pulling back on my auction approach and will reach out to Stacy and see if I can work something out through her/him.

Found the ship-to information for Stacy White. Everything will be boxed up and shipped to her later today.

Thanks for leading me in this direction!
