Navigator IV for a '02 LT

I've wanted to replace my original Navigator for a while and got a really good deal on a Nav IV from BobsBMW ($690 including shipping). Now I'm trying to integrate the Nav IV cradle wiring with the 2002 LT wiring for the original Navigator. I think I've got it figured but I'm not sure if my bike has CANBUS. The wiring from the cradle has two plugs. One is a two wire plug for the audio, I think, and the other is a three wire plug using red and black for power (I believe) and a purple wire for CANBUS sensing. What do I connect that to if at all? I'll have to do some chopping and soldering but that's not really an issue.
Has somebody done this installation on an older LT?

I'm not sure about your other wiring concerns, but to answer one of your questions - no LT has the Controller Area Network Bus (CANBUS). There are, however, several threads on the board about doing the swap you speak of. IIRC it's not real intuitive.

Thanks, Bill. Maybe I didn't word the search correctly but I couldn't find anything that addressed this directly.

Re: Navigator IV for a '02 LT

I found this:
www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=565952 -
which seems to answer most of my questions.
With this info I can connect power and audio to my KLT-C J&M comm system.
From this most of us can then make some headway connecting the Nav4 to older bikes though it loses some of the bells and whistles available on the Nav4. Still, aBlueTooth connection will still exist for those of us who want it.

I'm at a loss. $690 for a nav IV?

Wouldn't you have been better off when one of the Zumos?

Re: Navigator IV for a '02 LT

Probably, but I got sucked in by the hype. Actually the Nav4 is $900 so I saved $210.
A Zumo 665 is about $670 or so plus shipping and handling so the price for the Nav4 is comparable.
Anyhow, I'll have the Nav4 if I ever get a newer bike.
