Brake question

I'm replacing the brake lines (103,000) and having trouble knowing how to remove the line from behind the driver's foot rest. I can work the upper part of the banjo off, but can't figure the way to get a 14 mm wrench on the bolt?

Any help is appreciated

Re: Brake question

You did unbolt the foot rest plate, didn't you? Doing this allows you to unbolt the master cylinder and get access to all the hoses and bolts.

Re: Brake question

Got it. I had the plate off, just didn't realize yet even more had to come apart to get the line off! Sent off this morning to HEL USA for new lines

Re: Brake question

Hope you took a picture of the hose routing as the reservoir hose does go through some twists to get it all back together.

This attachment may be a picture of the twists John is referring to.

Hopefully the attachment makes it to the post.

Re: Brake question

Thanks, I had seen this, but was still sure there was something wrong when I turned the plate over and saw what looked like a tangle there-can't help but think there could have been a better design? The new brake lines should arrive next week, and I may be back for more help. Appreciate the time to send this along.

Re: Brake question

The tangle goes away when you rotate the foot plate to install, but if you don't put it in before hand it will be there when you flip it around.
