2000LT ABS Fault

Hi everyone. Just starting riding season here in Northeast PA. My LT only has 16K miles and took it in for inspection and ABS Fault lites alternate blinking. Minor problem? No. The ABS Control Unit is NG. Makes real bad grinding noise when running diagnostics. Next, the cost of $1700 for a new one really got my attention. Anyone out there with one from a parted out bike? Any thoughts or ideas I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
Bud McLain

Try these guys out. I haven't used them as a source yet
but I have heard good things about them.

Bud, I had the same problem on my '01. It sounds like BMW has a problem with these models, because another person on the board had the same deal.

2000K1200LT ABS Fault

Took my bike out for the first time last week. Everything was fine the first day. Next afternoon after work decided to go for a spin and Lord behold ABS lites were flashing. Took it to my dealer here in NB Canada and was quoted $3100.00 Cdn just for the Hydro Unit plus labor. Needless to say I am planning a trip when the weather warms up across the border for my repairs.

Yes, I'm the same. My 99 LT requires a new front ABS sensor. I've been quoted $AU230. Ouch! I ordered it. Typical hey!
