Red face Long Wait for new Throttle Cables

Not sure if this is a local issue (Chicago) or not, but just a heads up. If you've got a pre-2005 LT and are thinking of doing the throttle cable upgrade (to the newer design)...get your parts ordered early. It's been a month now and I still don't have mine from Chicago BMW.

I wish I could think of clever things to say in my signature.

Chicago BMW can be kind of slow when it comes to getting parts from them. It took almost 3 weeks to get my rear bearing and seal back in December.

This is just a guess on my part but I think one of the ways they can offer the 20% discount is that they are not selling these parts out of stock. When you place an order they then order the part from BMW and ship it to you when it arrives. No overhead on stocking parts.

Know what you're talking about... I got my cables in February, but didn't realize I needed the Twist Mod Kit for the thottle handle, changing from 02 LT... about 4 weeks I am still waiting on the the mod kit... from Destination Motorsports in Knoxville Tn,

I surely don't understand BMW's shipping to dealers, when I ordered the parts manager at DM said that New Jersey warehouse had 58 kits, I placed the ordered, he ordered, he has his comfirmation, but for some reason NJ can't get the order down to Knoxville TN...

Just today, parts manager called and he has got my part overnighted from NJ to Knoxville, and they are supposed to overnight it to me...

Well with all that time with the bike torn down, the plus side, I changed the fuel filter, air filter, fluids as well... and new shocks...

Yes order early and don't forget the Twist Mod Kit...I was thinking this was something with DM in Knoxville, but don't look any better with Chicago....

Makes you think the problem isn't in Chicago or Tennessee, doesn't it? The problem is in New Jersey.
