Arrow Auxiliary Display for Valentine One on 2005 K1200LT

I have seen some home-built external displays for the V1 (YouTube video here ), and I would like to build my own and integrate it into my 2005 K1200LT.

I already have the Valentine One "concealed display " unit, but I want to integrate LEDs into a module that blends in with the K12 and is also more visible.

THE PROBLEM: I cannot find wiring diagrams (I need Sesame Street versions) for such a unit, nor can I find the info on how to decode the signal to effect the proper visuals on the display. Signals and timing data are readily available on the V1 site (click here for details ).

Anyone around here done such a thing?

I intend on making the end result "open source" so anyone who likes the design and implementation can build their own and hopefully improve upon it.
