Needed: LOWER windshield bracket

When I had my little crash last year, I broke the lower windshield bracket/connector/arm/whateveryoucallit on the left side. NOT the plastic upper one, but the alloy(aluminium?) one on the bottom that pushes onto the actuating mechanism/hexagonal bar that turns to raise and lower the windshield.

I fixed it last year by modding a washer and jb weld-ing it, isn't holding up.

If you have one laying around, please reach out as the response I get from dealerships is "you have to buy the whole mechanism..." for big bucks, and I only need the lower arm

Re: Needed: LOWER windshield bracket

Is that the metal arm at the ens of the metal bar?

If yes, I can mail one to you Pete, after I figure out how to get it off.

I spent years looking for a replacement for one of those upper arms. A whille ago I found the entire assembly on eBay.

That would be AWESOME, Bob. There's a retaining clip on the end of the hexagonal rod, after you take that off, it takes a bit of wiggling but the metal "arm" comes right off.

I'll message you an address, we can figure out payment or something fun for trade.

Pete

Re: Needed: LOWER windshield bracket

So the hexagon nut/bolt etc...does not have to be removed? IE remove the c clip...wiggle and arm will come off?
