Re: 322.9 Miles On Less Than One Tank
Two tanks ago, I hit 319 miles using 6.148 gallons = 51.89mpg running Regular fuel. This is daily commuting on the interstate running at 70 - 77.
I've got an '01 that I read somewhere held 6.3 gallons - that would have left roughly 0.15 gallons. Per the BC, I was down to 4 miles till the dreaded "out of gas", so the computer's calculation seems really close.
A piece of trivia for those who have never tested the fuel limits of this bike: the BC gives up trying to indicate how many miles you have left once you hit 10 miles till empty. At that point, all you get are a couple of dashes.
My best mileage on this bike was running Premium through Oregon where I hit 59.24 mpg actual (vs the BC's calculated value of 54.8). Speeds were in the low to mid 60's with no "Play" time involved. Definitely love the mileage compared to the 1500 & 1800 Wings I've had which only run in the upper 30's for me. Even my old 1200 Voyager only averaged around 40, so this is definitely some great mileage for such a large bike.
