she's getting older

Poor old 2000 K1200LT. Nearing 100,000 miles. There's a puff of smoke upon starting, some backfiring when downshifting, things are rattling, and it sounds like it's down to running on two cylinders. OMG! I just realized it's slowly turning into a Harley! LOL

I'll never get rid of it. Hope things are fine for everyone.
Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob,
My 2000 has about 90K miles on it. It does need a little crankcase oil added between changes at 6000 miles, but otherwise the bike is good. Is your bike current with valve, sparkplug, air, and fuel filter maintenance? That might help eliminate some of the harley-like behavior.

How's that final drive doing? It was your final drive that I video recorded the rebuilding of some years ago. I hope that final drive is still running without problems.

Cheers,
