Battery needed locally

I am heading for out on Tuesday for a multi day road trip for work and need a battery.

I see that most say that Autozone and Advanced Auto have a battery that will work / fit in an LT, but none of the threads ever supply a part #

Can anyone send me a part # that I can call the local parts store and see if they can get by Monday?

Thanks

Re: Battery needed locally

Paul, the Advance near my house always has a battery in stock that will fit the LT. I don't remember the size, but I believe it's 20 or 22 amps. Seems like dimesnsions are 7"x2-1/2" or 3". The last one I bought, came from Wal*Mart. Problem is, you have to add electrolyte (it's in the box) and charge it at 2 amps for XX number of hours. The ones at Advance are ready to put in and go. Oh, the one at Wally was more expensive than Advance.

Just checked the website. I believe you'll want the ETX20L. I believe that's what I bought before. Pricing has gone UP! $113.00.

Re: Battery needed locally

Dims are 7.12x3.03x6.02. Close should be close enough.

I got an Odyssey PC680 from Batteries Plus! for abut what Lee showed the Advance battery to be. Dunno if you have BP stores in your neck of the woods. See my PM.

Re: Battery needed locally

We have a place here called Avance Batteries...

Got A PC680 there for $119.00 I believe...Most of your "Battery" stores will have something in stock that will work...

Re: Battery needed locally

Advance Auto, Auto Zone or Battery Plus are all good places to purchase your battery. They are in every good size town & most are open 7 days a week. That is a big plus if you travel across the country.

Re: Battery needed locally

Costco sells a jump start/air pump combo called PowerStationX (see pic) for $65.

Inside is a 20AH high current battery that is the proper size and has already lasted much, much longer than the OEM battery that came new on my '08. You may have to slightly drill the terminals to accommodate the OEM bolts, but I can't remember for sure.

The left over parts are pretty useful. The air pump is good quality, high volume and fits nicely in the empty charcoal canister space. The air gauge is decent and accurate. The 12 volt socket is very handy mounted near the headlight adjustment knob for GPS or cell phone. There is a 11 to 14V meter, a high current switch, a 12 volt lamp, cables, fuses and a bunch of other stuff that I didn't put on the bike.

Re: Battery needed locally

Thanks for all the input, assistance , advice and recommendations and the Private Messages..

I went with the ETX20L from AutoZone down the street.

The battery is not a like for like replacement size wise and the "placement" of the terminals was not exact, but I was able to hole out the existing terminal connector, break off a few tabs, use the 10MM nut to connect to the ground, connect the terminal connector to the ground with the supplied bolt (all this was for the negative) and just reconnect the positive as is and all worked out well.

I paid $108 plus tax, plus a core charge that I will get back when I return the old battery...

I am glad that I went with the ETX20L since it is readily available at any autozone and the price was good and it was in stock, no waiting. I was able to obtain the battery, remove, replace, and on the road again in under an hour.....

Thanks again..
