I hope I am not the first dunderhead to do this..... If I am, so be it.

My first try would be an extractor or "EZ Out", similar to this link I beat the extractor into the T30 hole with a hammer, then try to remove (counterclockwise). If that won't get it, a die grinder or dremel with a cut-off disc? In any event, you'll need a replacement bolt.

You can also use (Carefully!) a 1/4 drill bit to take JUST the head of the bolt off....

Drilling a smaller hole, so that the screw extractor will grab tightly sounds about right. Than you may re-tap --metric taps are available at most hardware stores. If you have a heat gun...warming up the area will help the process.

After drilling, heating, and screw extractoring, I finally got it out and replaced. Thanks!
