wind shield adjuster

My wind shield adjuster worked intermittently and then failed completed. The fuse is okay, is it usually the relay that fails or the adjuster motor. The bike is an 05 K1200LT

Re: wind shield adjuster

There are generally plenty of used motors around, as it is usually one of the arms that gives way and the whole assembly needs to be replaced as a unit (unless one can source or fabricate replacement arms, which is covered elsewhere). Before long, someone will chime in stating they have a motor or will provide an aftermarket part that happens to be equivalent to the factory motor (just as a honda scooter starter motor can be used in the EHCS).

It is usually the relay that fails. It has an up relay and a down relay. I helps to lube the arms now and then to help keep the amp. draw down.
