Casett deck removal on 02 LT?

Never having dipped into her "innards" (still a newbie), can I remove the casette unit under the gas tank "hood" without losing the radio function? Seems like great place to mount a couple of powerlets, and store my iPhone.

I understand that the radio is in that box.
If you have the cd changer in the back right one you can pull that.
I do miss the storage area in the front that my Voyager had..but that's it!

Well... One can take it out, but then they are either without a radio, install another system (see the many Jensen installation threads lately), or what?

I dunno.
I hear every time someone pulls the radio the final drive acts up. or maybe it's the slave cylinder.

Think of the buttons on the top of the "stingray" as a remote. In actuality those controls plug into the "brains" which is part of the Cassette deck. Remove the deck, remove the radio. If you do not have a OEM com system, the blank panel on top of the cassette deck can be removed. You can place your I-"whatever" in that void...

That only happens if one uses the wrong type of oil, silly. And we all know that the proper oil is...
