little advice needed drive shaft removal

I'm in the process of changing my slave cylinder but ran into a little problem removing the drive shaft from the tranny of all things. Can anyone throw a tip obviously I've over looked something. Thanks...ed

Remove the right rear foot plate and right rear fairing panel. you should be able to put the tip of a large screwdriver inside the u-joint and on the end of the transmission shaft and pry the shaft off. It should come off pretty easily.

Check the instructions in my signature.

+1. I've usually gotten it off with a stout tug.

Or hit it with a hammer! lol

Seriously, there is a small retaining clip on the inside of the shaft. A swift pull or pry with a screwdriver will "pop" it off... The only damage you can do is hitting your head on the underside of the bike... lol
