Bulb cover spring

I took bulb cover (headlight bulbs) off and spring fell off, spent many hours trying to put spring back. Where does the spring go, where are the holes for the spring?

Re: Bulb cover spring

Wow - what a bummer. I read your first post last night and was trying to figure out just what you were getting into. I've changed bulbs two or three times on my old LT but I couldn't remember dealing with a spring - just the clip that secures the bulb into the socket. I still haven't figured out where the spring comes into play but the idea of taking off the front fairing for what should have been a pretty simple job is not my idea of a good time.

Re: Bulb cover spring

I think shotgun is referring to the wire bail that holds the back cover to the headlight assembly.

Re: Bulb cover spring

I hope you converted it to HID if it's not already HID since you had to dig in that far. I took all that off as well when I did my HID (low beam) conversion - was just too finicky trying to do it without taking it all off.
