Wierd kinda accident

The urge overtook me and I decided to ride in regardless of temperature ( 20F ). I rationalized it as: I can't tell how cold my equipment is good for if I don't actually try it out. (Good news is: with some longjohns, the only cold part of me ill be my pinkies. I can live with that.

I'm a mile or so from work (downtown Denver), stopped at the light, and all the traffic around me was likewise stopped. (read: a contained situation) The light changed and the car ahead of me to the right, didn't start moving...the car behind him, however, did. Rear ending ensues.

I'm half wondering if the guy was lookin' at my bike and not paying attention.

Now I know what Hot Chicks have to contend with.

Definitely - sexy is sexy and the result is the same whether a babe or a beemer.

Babe on a beemer - now that could be a disaster!

Re: Wierd kinda accident

I hate reading the words weird and accident n the title of a post on a motorcycle forum.

Glad the car in front and to the right of you got hit and not you!

Stay safe.

Re: Wierd kinda accident

I kinda wrote it off as "Not my time"...and I don't mean that in a cocky squid bike fashion, either. The speed at which it happend was negligible. Folks die, get hurt, catch colds, get fender-benders, all the time...this one just happened to be right next to me.

I dunno if it's how I handle stress or what, but on the bike is not time to get philosophical as to what could have happened if it were me...it wasn't, think about it later.

Re: Wierd kinda accident

Dude...the smallest fingers on your hand! What do YOU call em? Mine were cold! I doubt they were hanging in the breeze, but the heat from the grips wasn't being conducted through the gloves and liners to 'em.

The liners were necessary on the other bike with non heated grips...on this bike the grips are thicker (the bike has those foam liners...normally I like 'em) and they ended up straining my hands...won't be using them anymore.

Re: Wierd kinda accident

Down to about 35 degrees I'm still wearing my summer mesh gloves. Colder than that and the pinkies are a challenge even with winter gloves on..
