Where is the "build number" located on 2005LT?

I found a couple recalls on my bike, but I cannot locate the build number to see if it is affected. I found a sticker on the rights side frame below the seat with the VIN number, and it says something about build number above, but I cannot see any such number. Any ideas?

If its got tits or an engine you're gonna have trouble with it

Don't know if they moved it, but on my '02 it's right under the seat on the other side of the frame rail next to the battery. There's a large-ish sticker there with a lot of information on it. The build date is in a block in the top right corner...in large type.

You can also find the build date via a VIN decoder such as http://www.bmw-z1.com/VIN/VINdecode-e.cgi

Found it on that frame rail with the help of a xenon maglite and by bending the tupperware quite a bit....thanks! Mine is not affected by any recalls that are listed!

According to the link mentioned above my bike was manufactured Feb 2003.

I purchased it in May 2005 and it has all the 05 modifications.

Any Canadians Try This

Just wondering if this VIN decoder worked for any Canadian purchased bikes as it does not work for mine? Just bought my bike in December so wondering if it's too new??? As original purchaser I have all the documents but am just curious.

When I input the "last 7" of the VIN on my 2006 K1200LT, it returned

"Chassis number ZL72428 Vehicle code 0317 Series K25 Model R1200GS Body type OTHER Catalog model USA Production date 2003 / 03 Catalyzer YES"

So, my bike is a 2003 R1200GS.....very interesting.

I also own a 98 Cruiser, and the details on that were correct.
Maybe it is wrong on recent bikes.
