100k BMW NA

I just picked up my 100k award from bmwna, man that roundle is huge and heavy! but it's pretty neat regardless, I was thinking of mounting it on my bike, big it is really big for that. anyhoot my first 100k miles is now documented on bmw's, too bad I never documented all my lifetime miles, but they were all mostly on hd's anyhow. 30 years of riding and I finally document some of the miles. mid life crisis perhaps <g>

the lt only has 116k miles on it now we have not done hardly any riding this last year

Hey, Tom - congrats on the miles of smiles on the BMW!

And you're right - that roundy thang is pretty heavy. I too tried to find a way to plant it on Toad, butt wuzn't happy with the few places available - so now it lives on my desk, under the coffee mug!!

I thought I remembered that Bob Menton had his award roundel installed on the license plate hangar, below the plate. Butt, I just searched for a pic and can't find it, so it may have been someone else. That location won't work on Toad, cuz the Tejas state inspection sticker goes there.

Anyway, congratulations again on the mileage accomplishment. Even tho you've not ridden much this last year, you've passed Toad's mileage @ 106K, which seems to be stuck there! Hopefully, we'll catch back up with ya this year! Ride safe, Tom.

Congratulations, Tom.

Having gotten into this motorcycle "thing" late in life (just last August), I'm going to have to do some serious riding to reach 100k miles. I have a whopping 4,400 miles on my LT, but it's a start!

(I'm now wondering if miles with a cane and/or a walker will count... )

It does seem nice to hit the 100,000 mile mark. I hit that a long time ago but I don't know if I will ever get to the 200,000 mile mark on BMW's the way I am going now. I hope you have better luck with that!

Congrats Tom.

I told John he can use it under the side stand. That way he can leave BMW logo imprint wherever he stops.

phew I took her to fl last week and she told me she was pretty ticked off at me for the lack of miles since our return from CCR, I'm going to start changing that again. yesterday was about about 17- miles to the dealer and some nice back roads back home, next week FL again. then who knows <g>

She had her problems in the begining as you can well remember but seems to be pretty happy lately, I'm hoping to surpass one of my Shovelhead FL mileage by a ways with this bike, it had over 250k on working speedo's there was several times she had no speedo though (go figure huh)

Good memory, Dick. I need to do a 36K service on the LT, and one of the tasks will be mounting the new 200K brass roundel in place of the 100K disk.

Thanks, I'm sure I wil hit 200k with this one, then who knows, it all depends on what kind of shape she is in, or if it ever gets wrecked, which I'm really hoping not!

This is the first other brand bike I have owned since i was 18 and to tell the truth, I'm begining to be quite pleased with my choice of ride this time, But that Darn Jinks keeps telling my about the K1200GT he saw in Daytona and then there is the much lusted after (by me anyhow) R1200GS, nothing else on the market seems to have my interest at all.

but i still think I _need_ to hit the 200k mark on this one befor i get another bike. I figure $10k per 100k miles is not a bad investment <grin> then she will become a secondary bike uh well actually I guess it would be a third bike since i still have my '58
