Fuel Pump Relay...

My '05 had an intermittent starting problem - normally would start right up 90% of the time, then for some reason the engine would turn but not fire. Then later it would start like nothing was wrong. I checked the recall that is for the alarm module since they way they describe it the symptoms look very similar (except it was a little warmer when mine failed), but my alarm module is not within the recall serial number range.

If it's not the alarm module, I think it's an intermittent fuel pump relay based on feedback from other members here. The relay is a black part no 6136-1393 412, and I have the tank off and have the relay out . But this relay seems to be quite hard to find new - it doesn't come up on BMW Chatanooga nor BMW Atlanta sites. I do see what might be the same relay on other sites for cars (BMW and Mini) quoting the same part number but no pictures - would that be the same thing? I just want to be sure I order the correct relay. Maybe there's a new replacement number I should be looking for - anyone know?

Thanks!

Re: Fuel Pump Relay...

Thanks for that John - looks like I go from black to yellow (2 other yellow ones in there of the same part number - go figure...). Thanks for your help!
