Question Audio Wiring

Sorry but this will be long, I bought my first BMW K 1200 LTC, 1999, 40k miles and was in good condition mechanically. Cosmetically it sucked. The throttle would cause cramps after about 12 minutes. I decided to do the upgrade and ordered the necessary conversion complete with new everything. While I had the plastic off, I decided to have it painted. Took a month. When I put it back together, I had an audio connector with no place to connect it. It has a blue tape marker on it and a pig tail lead with a connector on it. I left it off and everything seemed to work fine except the radio has no audio when the ignition is in the run position, works great in the middle position, radio, cd etc. The question is, where does that connector connect ? I have a Clymers manual with wiring diagram but that's no help.

Re: Audio Wiring

From memory only, if you are speaking to a large pin round female connection under the stingray. its the Pillion audio connection or the CB connection. That is if you have the BC-3 retro fitted to your '99.

Does the radio cut out completely (no power) or just the audio? Either way, the ignition switch should have nothing to do with the audio unless you sourced it to a different power lead...
