FD oil pics

Well, decided to stick with the original BMW non syn oil from the dealer since I have seen and heard of some leaks made possible from the use of synthetic fluids. However I was very happy to see the condition of the oil that came out of the final drive. I even called the previous owner (original owner) and ask him if he ever change that oil, and he said NEVER, I know the bike only has 11500 miles on her, and we bought her with 10000 miles exactly 2 months ago, but I think that`s pretty good for that mileage. See pics attached.

Re: FD oil pics

For as little as the oil cost I always changed my FD oil every 6000 miles. It always looked as clean as the new oil that I put back in even after 80,000 miles.

Re: FD oil pics

Run the oil across some white paper as it comes out. Makes it easy to see metal flakes or chips.
