Another dumb question RE: KRS Mirrors

OK ... after reading the notes and seeing the photos of the bikes with the K/RS mirrors I quick ordered up the parts from Chicago BMW. (thanks for posting all the part #'s .... love this site). They arrived today and are great. I am ready to install but .... here is the DUMB question ... do the funky spring washers go next to the nuts or between the mirrors and the switch housing. I assume the go next to the nuts where most washers go ... but never having seen those funky looks spring washers I just wanted to be sure.

Thanks in advance !!

You guys rock!

I put mine next to the nuts. Been fine for about two years.

Note that they are designed to swing out of the way if hit, and then be pushed back into place using a detent and ball to locate them. You can see this between the bottom of the mirror and the adapter block it fits into. I found that if they were loose enough to be able to swivel, then the nut loosened up and they moved on their own. I eventually tightened the nut so that nothing moved and left it that way. Loctite and a looser torque may work as well.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...
