Rear view mirror

Greetings guys.

Here's a question. The coloured part of my rear view mirror has rattled loose. I've noticed two of the three screws that hold that part to the mirror body are located behind the mirror glass. Is there a way to remove the mirror without damaging the adjuster that the mirror snaps onto.

Cheers and kindest regards

Paul Harrington

Re: Rear view mirror

IIRC, You slide a thin wine or fishing line behind the mirror and cut through the adhesive holding the mirror.

Look at the muth signal mirror site, I think they explain in more and better detail. If not there, a search of this site surly will turn up instructions for replacing broken mirrors.

Re: Rear view mirror

Easy way is to put the whole Mirror in to a bucket with hot water and dish washer detergent and let it soak for 10 minutes.
Then slip with a big screw driver under the Mirror in to the housing until you feel a stop turn the screw driver on the handle to any side you like and lift it out of his holder. But easy, no pressure.
The Mirror will jump out of the housing so put something under a towel or some other cloth.

Hope could help you, Manfred
