Re: john ? 2000cc lt ?

Deductive reasoning. A while back BMW introduced a light weight 2 liter auto engine and they said it had motorcycle implications. BMW releases the 1600 GT and GTL models following the halt of the LT production. Clearly not a replacement as it does not have the wind protection. Therefore there must be a K2000LT in the wings. (plus a little birdie told me).

2004 330 Ci Convertable

Have ridden a Motorcycle in all 48
But lack DE, MA, RI and CT with the 2005 LT

Re: john ? 2000cc lt ?

Well, I don't know about the 2000cc part, but I have it on very good, inside authority, that the current GTL is a "place holder" for the next true KLT.
BMW will not even suggest that a KLT is on the horizon as that would hurt GTL sales; reasoning that some folks who would otherwise buy a GTL would wait for the KLT if they knew it was coming.
My source, whose only public moniker is "Hans", has unequivocally assured me that there will be a new KLT. It will probably be powered by the new in-line six that powers the current GTL offerings. Whether it will be "punched out" to 2000cc or not is sheer speculation, my sources have given no such indication. Personally, I suspect that the current GT and GTL offerings are a test of the platform, and once the beta-testers have sorted out the "pull to the left" and other quirks, we'll see a true luxo-tourer worthy of the K1200LT lineage. I suspect it will be a 1600cc or maybe a 1650, or 1700, not a 2000. At most, it'll be 1800, just to match the Honda GL displacement.

Winter must be setting in early,
The boys are getting bored already.
So lets start the rumor mill and get a new thread going to keep us occupied for the next 6 months.
