Connecting phone to BC1

I have a 1999 LT and kind of looked around for a solution a few months ago but never came up with anything.

I have an iPhone 4 and would like to be able to use the phone will riding and now my wife is adamant that I get one.

We had a pretty bad M/C accident on my normal commute route tonight and I probably missed it by a couple minutes. She tried calling me and I obviously didn't answer, so she got all kinds of upset and now wants me to have a way to talk to her while on the bike.

Thanks for you input.

I bought a Cardo Scala rider G4. Bluetooth connection to the Iphone. 60 mph and no one guessed I was on my bike. You can pick up a set 2 for 310.00 from this place;

I have the Q2 Multiset. No issues whatever. The things just work great and the sound quality is awesome. I modified mine to get rid of the crappy helmet speakers and the sound quality is awesome at a very low volume level.

Re: Connecting phone to BC1

I already have the J&M headsets and built in Comm System, is there any way to connect it through that?

I like being able to just plug in and go and not having to worry about remembering to charge my headsets. I had a BT headset in the past, a Whistler unit which was nothing more than a rebranded Camos 3300, that I didn't much care for. I could either connect to my phone or connect to the other headset and after much fiddling I wound up just giving it to my father to use, since he'd only be using it to pair with his phone.

Re: Connecting phone to BC1

I purchased the Scala Rider Teamset Pro, just got it in today. Looking forward to seeing how it works. It is essentially just a bluetooth intercom for rider and passenger, plus each person can connect the iPhones. If you're looking for more bike to bike communication, then the Q2 or G4 is the one to get.

Re: Connecting phone to BC1

J & M made the original bc1 comm system, check with them to see if you can get a cable for a generic cell phone. (generic would be whatever type plug plugs into your comm system and the other end would be a 2.5mm male plug with 2 black rings.
Then you can purchase a adaptor cord that goes to a i phone and accepts the 2.5mm male ....now it should work. Kieth 918-446-2245 call me for clarification on what you need. I do not sell any of these above items.

J & M just started to sell an iphone/Blackberry specific cord, check out their site under the BMW products. It is costly, $39.99 I think.

Re: Connecting phone to BC1

I have an iPhone 4 too. I have used Interphone blueant now for years, both with the phone and as intercom with my wife. The latest version is Interphone 4, stereo bluetooth, and all over ebay. Mine is an earlier model, synchs with the phone easily, and works well as intercom. I didn't like the attached cables with the BMW system, and opted for this solution-at the time, the units were about 150/each.
