Luggage rack brake wiring

I took the top case off for the improved handling for my daily drive to work but I put the luggage rack back on to give it a more finished look. I'm looking for a way to reconnect the brake light. I know the brake wires are yellow/gray and brown but the wires coming out of the luggage rack are purple and orange. Can I just connect those wires to the ones under the passenger seat? If so which is which?

Thanks in advance for the help, as well as the smart ass comments...

Re: Luggage rack brake wiring

Hi, the easy way to do is connect the wires to the break light bulbs like I did.

Hope could help, Manfred

Re: Luggage rack brake wiring

Just an FY and you probably already know this, but you can take the luggage rack apart and route the wires internally.

There is kind of a "waffle grid" inside, which can be easily cut with a Dremel tool and abrasive cutting disk to make more room for an extra wire run if needed.
