Front brake clips

My new brakes came with no clips that keep the centre pin secure on the front brakes. Do I really need them and if so where can I get new ones because the ones on my old brakes are no good?

Re: Front brake clips

I believe you are talking about the anti-rattle spring. If so I can tell you from personal experience the brakes rattle and drove me crazy. I had to put new pads on that have the anti rattle. I have not heard of any one who installed anti.rattle springs on new pads that didn't come with any.

Re: Front brake clips

Few of us have quite successfully found some light pressure compression springs that JUST slid over the index pin that when installed between pads stops the rattles.

I just replaced my front brake pads, didn't come with new clips either, I put the old one's back in. Should though be able to get them at a hardware or auto parts store. The pin keeps the pads lined up wouldn't want it to vibrate out, even though the pads couldn't come out.
