I dropped my bike yesterday and the right side, brake side, broke off. Called the dealer and they want 160 bucs for a new one. not trying to sound like a tight wad but anyone know where i can get an used one or better price for after market?

In addition to the obvious recyclers (Beemerboneyard, cycles-recycled, etc), and eBay, take a scan thru the classifieds pages here on the forums. IIRC, there were/are a coupla folks parting out their salvaged bikes, or selling some extra parts that they had acquired from others. And of course, you'll need to describe the part. The entire footpeg plate, or the spring loaded peg, or ....???? Good luck.

Click here for a parting out bike in our classifieds. He may still have the part you're looking for.

Re: broken foot peg

I had the same thing happen. While waiting for a new peg to arrive I rummaged through my spare parts boxes and found the old passenger pegs I had taken off my vulcan 900. I had to grind about 1/8" off the end of them but they fit nice and secure into the peg extenders I have. Not sure how it would fit without the extenders. Once the new peg came I tossed it into my tool kit for emergencies. It would really suck breaking a peg 200 miles from home.

Re: broken foot peg

Try an eBay search. Found one there after a drop the day I was leaving for CCR last year

Re: broken foot peg

What a small and crappy world. I dropped mine backing out of the drive way on Saturday and busted the right drivers peg myself! I'm going to have mine welded by the local guru. Stronger than new anyway.
