Why Aluminum Bolts for Plug Cover??

Changing plugs yesterday and one of the darn aluminum allen bolts actually stripped in the allen socket. Got it out ok with a small vise grip, but here's the question- What is the reason for using an aluminum bolt here? I've never seen them anywhere else. Has anyone just substituted a regular steel allen bolt for these (paying close attention to the torque value of course) or is that verboten?

Aluminum is a lot lighter than steel.

Re: Why Aluminum Bolts for Plug Cover??

The reason is the aluminum head. If you use other metals in there you can cause severe problems with dissimilar metal that can make it next to impossible to remove later.

Also the load factor - it does not take a lot to hold that trim piece on.
