Still Love my K1200LT

To all the bikes I've loved before; (Willie an Julio in the background)

1977 Yamaha GTE 80 - A 9 year olds wish comes true - I love you GTE 80
1983 Suzuki DR100- Christmas of 82 - First year with the full floater. I love you.
1986 Kawasaki Ninja 250 - My High School Bike. Good times! I love you little Ninja.
1992 Kawasaki ZX-6 Ninja - Thanks for the Memories. I love you.
1993 Honda Shadow VT1100 - Fun with my friends. I love you.
1999 Honda VTR 1000 Superhawk - VTwin Duc hunter. I love you.
2001 Kawasaki ZX-12 - fast Fast FAST. I love you.
2004 Yamaha FJR1300- Remember Highway 50 across Nevada - 150mph - I really really looooooove you.
2005 BMW K1200LT - 36k wonderful miles later and ... I still love you.

My infatuation continues with BMW for the moment. Many 500-1000 mile days on this bike. I would like to be the guy at the rally with 100k plus miles and still going strong. This bike does everything I want and need it to do.

My Buddy has the new k1600gtl and it is a great looking bike. But a year from now it will be a used k1600lt and the excitement and the newness will have worn off. I will no doubt have another 5k miles on my old K1200LT and I will still arrive at my destination with a smile on my face.

Even if I had no bike at all right now, I would not be compelled to buy a new k1600gtl. What great times one could have on a low mileage 2003 K1200LT or a goldwing or whatever for under 10k and think of what you would do with the extra $18k.

Its all about the great experiences with my pals now. Those are what I consider to be exciting and new.

Enjoy the Road everyone! See ya out there.
