Replacement FOB

Anyone replace a lost or broken Alarm FOB? Where does one find a FOB? Is it a BMW Dealer only type item?

Thanks, Sam

Re: Replacement FOB

I bought a brand new one from Ebay and if you have the 5 digit or 6 digit code you can program it yourself. I have seen programming instructions here on this forum. I bought the bike used and it came with only 1 and was not set up the way I wanted it.

I had to work with the dealer in Long Beach as I did have my code or know it. I now have 2 fobs and have programmed them to not set the alarm and immobilizer automatically by default. Now no need to press button on fob to start.

Re: Replacement FOB

Are they listed as BMW Motorcycle or just generic?

Re: Replacement FOB

Sam,

The search I use on Ebay is BMW K1200LT, usually find a couple FOB there. You can modify the output to list by price, newly listed ect. Try by price lowest first, you will have to go through all the $5 parts to get to the $30 to $50 parts where the FOB usually shows up. Or you can go there everyday and look for newly listed. Lots of options good luck.
