Southwest Moto Tires

I ordered a new rear tire from Southwest moto tires last week and have not received any confirmation info. I tried Faxing the number and recording says disconnected. Anyone out there around Tucson Az know if they are still in business. I also E-mailed them but you guessed it no response. I have ordered tires from them before with great service.

Hey, Ron - you order by phone or by internet?

I'm about ready to put new galoshes on ole Toad and have never dealt with SW. Have had tires from them, butt they were ordered by someone else who wanted to save shipping.

Re: Southwest Moto Tires

I ordered tires from them about 3 weeks ago. Like you, I did not receive a confirming email and was concerned. I sent them an email requesting confirmation and received a reply including a tracking number. The tires arrived within 4 days of having placed my order. Hopefully your experience will be similar.

Re: Southwest Moto Tires

Dick,

I ordered online like I always do. They don't usually give you much in the way of updates on the orders, but the tires arrive so quickly.

I always order a new set as soon as I install a set and keep them in stock.

If you order a set they ship free.

I live in Phoenix. When I order from SW, I usually get the tires, the next day, before the email.

Thumbs up Re: Southwest Moto Tires

It could be that they are extra busy.

I sarted to order a front tire a few months ago and found they had none, so I emailed them and asked they to let me know when the fronts became available.,,,,,,,,,.....Which they did and I then orderes a set and got them here in MO in 4 days. However, if I remember right, the email came with a tracking # the day before the tires came.

I'm betting you'll get your tires soon.

I might add that the tires had a really recent manufacturing date on them.

Good Luck!

Vern

Bought used K1200LT number 3. This one is green/teal with 31,369(now 7/29/2018 54,143) miles and is an '02. The first 2 bikes made it to near 150,000 miles.

Due to heart health, the Dr says not to ride under 40 degree air temp. Ugh! Now it is harder to get my 18000 miles a year in just in the summer. Guess that stopped my 20 degree rides now.

Re: Southwest Moto Tires

Hey, Dick -- SWMoto is not the same folks that originally offerred screaming deals on tires a few years ago. Today, if my dealer don't have the tire I want (if he does, he'll usually come close enough to the internet pricing to make it worth buying from him), I now use www.tiresunlimited.com -- about the best prices I've found online, and the last set of PR2s for my R12RT arrived the *next day*! Responsive to e-mails and telephone as well.

Howdy, Mark - great to see you on here nowadays; and I appreciate the info on TU.
You can pick up your referral check in about a week!! j/k Cuz I think I might try 'em.

Boy, to get a set of tires delivered the *next day* in Boerne, they practically gotta be rollin' 'em down Main Street when you punch the send button!!!!

I know SWMoto had a hiccup or two sometime ago, but like I said, I didn't have to deal with 'em - just had to arrange mounting, once I picked 'em up from my bud who did the ordering.

Re: Southwest Moto Tires

I orderd a tire on a ride 5 weeks ago while in SO CAL and put an urgent message in the comment box. They followed up with a phone call that they drop shipped a tire to my hotel and it arrived the following day in time to have a local shop put it on for me. They went above and beyond the norm for most internet tire suppliers IMHO.

Call and leave them a voice mail. They'll return your call and answer your questions.

Try their email through their contact information. That is how I got ahold of them and they called me. I can look through my phone bill and see what their number is if you don't connect with them right away.

Re: Southwest Moto Tires

I heard from Erik at SW Moto tire and he wrote

"we have been extremely busy lately and in order to keep our prices low we only have a couple employees. "

They are processing orders as quickly as they can.

I have gotten a few sets of rubber from SW Moto and they have all arrived ontime if not a little late.

They generally have the best pricing for what I need (at least $30 a set under the next best price).

Re: Southwest Moto Tires

I use Motorcycle Superstore for this very reason. Order by fax, on-line, or by phone. Makes no difference. AND......... a quick call to their 800 number gets a cheerful response to any questions. I ordered my first replacement rear tire while sitting in a boat on the Columbia River fishing for salmon. It was a Friday afternoon, about 1-ish and the tire was delivered Monday.

I've ordered all my tires from them as well as other accessories because of their customer service.

Re: Southwest Moto Tires

To the best of my knowledge SW Moto does not post a phone number as they don't have the staff to handle phone calls. Quite a few places do this and I even heard my local BMW dealer was considering it for internet sales. The last few years they often have not had the best price by a couple bucks and don't carry a full inventory.

I've been getting my LT tires at Motorcycle Superstore in Oregon recently. Their regular prices are great but they've also had excellent two day internet sales over the winter months specifically on tires and particularly on the ME880s I prefer. I ordered a pair during the last internet sale and it came to $292 for the set of VB rated LT tires. ME880s are routinely 30% off. No tax, no shipping, and drop shipped to my tire man. Pretty hard to beat that service, quality, and price combination. Oh yes, they answer the phone(but I don't have to call) and also send you a $5 offer your next purchase coupon with your shipment.
