Its' On

well it's on. We have raised over 5k in precedes that will go the Heart of Georgia United Way. I paying for the trip out of pocket. I plan to depart this coming weekend based on the weather forecast.

I'm going to go coast to coast "jacksonville Fl to San Diego" in a 4 day attempt.

Questions: 1. Im going to change all of the fluids before departure. "I usually run 10w40. Should i run 20w50 for this trip due to 6k of use before the bike gets home?

2. Should I run 75w140 in the trans and diff, vs the normal 75w90?

3. how much time is involved in the drilling the weep hole task?

My bike and I made the front page of the local newspaper, and a 30 min show on tv35. they filmed the big girl going by a couple of times. the guy that interviewed me stated "I didnt know BMW made motorcycles

It's a one way trip for me. My buddy is going to fly over and ride the bike back. .

Re: Its' On

Depending on the miles are on the old lubes, I would NOT change them until AFTER the trip.
Highway miles are easy on an engine, change them when you return. Obviously if they are well overdue, then change them.

If you do change I'de use the wider temp range 20/50 & 75/90 gear.

Forget the slave weep hole for now, wait until your return. It is an 8-16 hour job IF everything goes smooth.

GOOD LUCK, GOD BLESS AND BE SAFE!
