Re: Top case trunk central lock
I have a problem with my top box lock actuator. The solenoid and the actuator move back and forth when the buttons on the fob are pressed. The actuator pushes through the hole in the top box to the latch. There is another assembly on the latch itself. The actuator is supposed to push the assembly to lock the latch. It does this. It is also supposed to pull the assembly back to unlock the latch. It doesn't do this. I can open the latch by turning the key to 45 degree position and pressing the button. Once the latch is open, the assembly can be moved to the left to unlock the button.
The actuator is small diameter, but it appears to have a tapered (threaded?) end that fits into the latch assembly. I can't see it very well and there is very limited room. I can't tell how the things fit together, I just know they aren't "one" any longer. It looks like all the fasteners are rivets. Any ideas how to get the thing apart or fix it? Thanks in advance!
