Which Ram Mounting Bracket For A GPS?

I have an 05 LT that has OEM GPS bracket (the one that sits behind the radio) and would like to install a non-Garmin GPS (205W) on it. Here is the question...

Which RAM mount's base plate works (that lines up w/ the holes) on the OEM bracket? Although it is easy to find the bracket for the Garmin 205W, I am curious to read what others have done for a ram base plate.

THANKS!!!!

Glenn

Re: Which Ram Mounting Bracket For A GPS?

Hi Glenn,

I have a rather elderly Street Pilot III, the cradle for which bolts directly to the LT's mount. Also, the round Ram mount has the same four holes ('cos that lines up with the cradle).

My Garmin Zumo 550 cradle mounts directly to the BMW mount. The four holes align perfectly with the factory mount.

Re: Which Ram Mounting Bracket For A GPS?

Thanks everyone for your insight. I found that I will need four (4) pieces to make the Garmin 205W to work:

1. HOL GA 25L (locking cradle for the GPS)
2. B238
3. B201 A
4. B347

Once I get the RAM mounts installed, I will send off a few pictures (looks like Friday of this week).

Hope this helps...

Glenn
