Re: swinging arm bearing tool.

I bought one and it shipped to California in a week. This will do the job and it only cost ~$24.00 including shipping. Be sure to search eBay for "swinging arm", not "swing arm". It included the 12mm allen insert, too.

It's slightly different than the one pictured in the ad cited. There are others listed that show the one that I received. It has a window with 180 degree access cutout. The open socket end is closed and does not have an open "C" shape.

Box label says...

LASER
p/n 4740
Swinging Arm Bearing Tool
BMW Motorcycles
For installing or adjusting the taper roller bearing in the swinging arm. Includes 30mm window socket. 12mm Hex key.
Use on BMW R1200GS/GT/CT Motorcycles.

Should work on my LT and early GT.

Re: swinging arm bearing tool.

Received my bearing tool this morning in the post. The box is labelled the same as yours. Do you think this will do the job .

Re: swinging arm bearing tool.

Yes, this will do the job. It's a quality purpose-built tool. The 12mm allen insert is a bonus.

Good luck.
