2009 advice for new 2009 owner...

If you read my earlier thread I was moving from a 00LT with 56K miles to a 2009 with 3750 miles.

The 00 gave me no trouble. I put 8K miles on the 00 over a the last 5 months and loved every second of it. But I wanted a newer one since I was planning more long distance, so I sold my VTX and LT and got the 2009.

Is there any advice from owners of 2009 LTs?

I already figure how to use the center stand, how to use the central locking system and I assume turn on the alarm.

I wired my Flash-2-Pass, the GPS and the Valentine 1 with my home made mount. I also added a clip for my generic tank bag to clip onto from under the seat and screwed under the seat using the existing seat bolts.

Obviously the 2009 is smoother, shifts better and feels "tighter". And she seems to want to upright herself in turns easier and seems harder to "push" into a turn. (I am NOT an agressive rider...).

Anything I need to watch for?

Anything I need consider? things that are going to break? I have 33K miles and 14 months left on the warranty.

There are a few broken pieces that I need to get the dealer to fix since they appear to be warranty items.

Thanks in advance and see ya on the road.

Re: 2009 advice for new 2009 owner...

Since you already have about 3500 miles on the clock now, you will probably need tires at around 7k on the front. Keep the pressure at 42psi on front and 48 psi on rear. I would go ahead and find a set (could take a week or two) to buy and hold because it is a special tire and you can face a shortage if you wait until the last minute. If you ride a lot, the next 3500 miles will come quickly on your new bike. Just for thoughts.....
