Radio loudness setting

I've looked and looked and can't seem to find the answer to this question. In the radio settings for fade, balance, etc...there is a loudness either on or off. What does this setting do??

Re: Radio loudness setting

I've found that it boosts the "whole" sound a bit more without you having to add more bass and treble individually.

Re: Radio loudness setting

Loudness usually the boosts the bass below 100Hz and the treble above 10Khz by a small amount. Supposed to help "compensate" for the way our ears are less sensitive to those frequencies at low volumes.
