:) Kudos to Loren!!

Yesterday I met up with Loren from Vancouver, WA. I am a very new LT owner and was looking for someone to help me with some routine maintenance and Loren contacted me that he would do it. What wonderful folks Loren and his wife are. I spent the afternoon with him and we changed the oil and filter, changed the transmission oil, changed the drive oil, lubed the shifter linkage, did a cannister bypass, removed a lot of the tupperware and wired the bike for Garmin Zumo. I had a great time getting to know him and when done I took him and his wife out to dinner. He has a lift and I know this is on my list of things I need in my garage!

I am very thankful I found this forum and will spend a lot of time here!

Again, THANK YOU LOREN!!
Larry

Larry, it was my distinct pleasure to meet you and help guide you through your first service. You have a very nice ride and I'm sure you will enjoy it for years to come.

We must make a trip to the coast one of these days and then let me treat you to a fall ride above the Columbia River Gorge when the oak trees are in color. Very beautiful area.

I will send you those pics of the drain plug via email this afternoon.

Take care, enjoy your ride, and thank you for letting me help you with the service. I enjoyed it immensely.

count me in

Yes, we have to do it! I am not very confident in the twisties yet but I ride my ride and always stay within my comfort zone. On a motorcycle is not the best place to go "outside your comfort zone".

Let me know ahead when you want to ride!
Thanks again
Larry

Re: :) Kudos to Loren!!

I would be glad to point you guys to a really unique part of Washington State. The area above the gorge on the WA side is amazing. Lot's of twisties and panoramic views of valleys and rivers from waaaay up above them. I am off tomorrow night so will send you via pm the road and highway numbers we would likely ride.

I would suggest we wait till fall when the trees change color. The contrast should be striking!

Larry, no worries on the speed issue. I would bet that WAY over half of the forum members could ride the route faster than me and that's just OK! It's fun to ride at the limit of your comfort zone but it is equally fun to slow down and "smell the flowers". No shame whatever to reach the bottom or top of the grade in "last place" but in one piece! BTW, should you want to ride faster than the rest of the group just roll on the throttle and make the pass. The rest of the group will eventually catch up and away we go again!

Looking forward to the ride,

Loren

Hey Loren,
I'm gettin tired of all this beauty up here on Whidbey, and would love to get some local southern Washington color especially in the fall. Would you allow me to join the fall gorge
run with some beammer brothers???

Are you kidding Rich? Would love to have you along. Might even turn out to be one of those crisp and dry fall days! If so we will figure out a way to keep the webs between our toes from cracking!!!!

Probably should switch this conversation over to the North West (sic) forum.

Loren, bring Larry to one to the Wednessday night dinners! Ah heck, Larry, come to a Wed night dinner!! I usually post info about it in the Norhtwest forum. Just a reason to ride your bike to dinner and talk bikes, or anything else if there is time.

Re: :) Kudos to Loren!!

I made it to the one dinner and enjoyed it immensely. I have been scheduled to work every Wednesday dinner night since! I mentioned to Larry about the dinner and I think he's up for it!

Hope to see you at the next dinner.
